Miami-Dade's public library system is of the biggest losers in Mayor Carlos Gimenez's proposed budget.

94 full-time library employees would lose their jobs -- 20 percent of the library system's workforce.
Gimenez's budget would set aside about $45 million for libraries. That's $5 million less than this year and roughly $20 million less than what activists believe would be necessary to run a healthy library system.

No libraries would be closed under the proposed budget but they will have to operate with reduced staff and more part-time workers.
