Miami's Critical Mass latest bicycle ride is set for Friday night, just as city police continue working for better control of the disorganized event.

Miami Police Chief Manuel Orosa said in a press conference that "Critical Mass is a critical mess" for the city.

Orosa said he has reached out to organizers to rein in bad behavior during Critical Mass rides.

The chief says riders block traffic and break all sorts of laws, including selling beer without permits.

He says riders need to stop at every stop sign and every red light and stop obstructing traffic for motorists.

Ride leaders have not responded to requests for a sitdown, according to Orosa.

The chief would not say whether or not officers would be out Friday night looking to cite or arrest offenders.
