After two years of repairs following Hurricane Sandy, Elliott Key is opening again at 8:00 this morning.

The National Park Service closed the island off to campers, hikers, and boaters while they refurbished the facilities.

The only way to get to Elliott Key is by boat, so it's no wonder the docks were redone with mesh decks to let water flow more easily.

The campground's bathroom and shower facilities got new plumbing and toilets and got a fresh coat of paint.

Elliott Key is the northernmost island in the Florida Keys and is one of the most popular attractions at Biscayne National Park.
