An electrifying finish to last night's Florida Gators football season opener...and we don't mean on the field.
The Gators matchup against Idaho is being declared "terminated" because of multiple lightning strikes near the Swamp.
The season opener for both teams started after a nearly three-hour lightning delay.
The Gators' Valdez Showers electrified the crowd with a 64-yard kickoff return, but then more lightning strikes were detected, and the game was stopped after 10 seconds.
Game officials say there are now four options for the schools.
They can resume the game at a later date, end the game with a determined final score, forfeit, or they could declare a "no contest."
Both teams have an open date on Saturday, Oct. 25.
