The Miami-Dade Elections Department put its voting equipment to the test Wednesday afternoon.

Deputy Supervisor of Elections Christina White said the testing is a trial run ahead of the August 26th primary.

White said lawmakers have minimized the language allowed on ballots to make them easier to read, so voting does not take as long.

And, Miami-Dade County has streamlined the check-in process to make voting lines move more quickly.

Voting equipment will soon be deployed to early voting and election day voting locations.
