The legal game of chess continues when it comes to same-sex marriage in Florida.
Attorney Bernadette Restivo-- who represents the Monroe County bartenders who won the right to marry-- files papers for the state’s appeal to move directly to Florida's Supreme Court.
A Monroe County judge declared Florida's gay-marriage ban unconstitutional, but the men haven't been allowed to marry because the Attorney General appealed, triggering an automatic stay.
This case mirrors one in Miami-Dade, in which a Circuit Judge ordered six same-sex couples be allowed to marry.
It is likely that the two cases will be appealed together.
