Another player in the Scott Rothstein Ponzi scheme will learn his fate today.

Russell Adler could be sentenced to up to five years in prison for his role in the Rothstein racket.

Adler was a top partner in Rothstein's law firm. He pled guilty to making thousands of dollars worth of illegal donations to John McCain's presidential campaign and Charlie Crist's senate bid.

Why were those donations illegal? Because that money was stolen from Rothstein's investors.

Prosecutors say the donations were meant to bolster the law firm's standing with the political elite.

Rothstein was sentenced to 50 years in prison for running the $1.2 billion Ponzi scheme.
