Major Florida Interstate In Danger Of Closing Due To Hurricane Flooding

One of the main highways connecting Florida to the rest of the country is in danger of being closed due to post-hurricane flooding.

The Santa Fe River, which runs under Interstate 75 in north central Florida, has risen tremendously over the past two days, according to Florida transportation officials.

Officials say the water is likely to continue rising over the next few days days.

If the highway closes, it would require major detours for those trying to return after evacuating.

The bridge that crosses the river is just north of Gainesville, the home to the University of Florida.

Tennessee is scheduled to play UF this weekend in Gainesville -- meaning it could cause problems for those trying to attend the game.
