The quest to lose weight is something that most people in the world will deal with at some point. We all wish we had the magical solution to shedding the pounds. Well, Nasser Al Shawaf and Dutch engineering company BPO think they've found a new method in the form of their 'FitCar PPV' (PPV meaning Pedal Powered Vehicle).
The new vehicle, which is based on the Audi A4 (pictured above), trades in the accelerator pedal for a pair of bicycle pedals. That's right, you've got to put the work in to get this car to move. The bike pedals are hooked up to a fly wheel and together they generate an electronic pulse that activates the car's accelerator. It's a pretty cool idea when you consider those inner workings!
If you're wondering about the brake (and you should for safety's sake), have no fear. It's been replaced with a handbrake on the steering wheel.
"I came up with the idea of the FitCar — which does exactly the same as any conventional car — getting us safely and comfortably from A to B, however in the FitCar you can exercise while you drive," said inventor Nasser Al Shawaf.
