Paul's Blog #1: Heroic Divers and Hurricane Season

  • This week, a man was arrested for taking undersized lobster out of season; a Dolphin washed up on the beach with a two foot rubber hose in its stomach; they found plastic on the bottom of the Mariana Trench; and with thousands headed towards the beach for Memorial Day, I offer this simple reminder: Please don’t use the beach as an ash tray. And kudo’s to the divers off Ft. Lauderdale who found a nurse shark trapped in fishing line, these great citizens of the Planet Earth rescued the shark and helped protect Mother Nature. Let’s all try and do the same.
  • Dear Hurricane Season, we give you a HUGE window to terrorize us with. I mean really, isn’t June 1st through November 30th enough? The TV weather people have plenty of time to whip South Florida into a wind and wave induced terror, do you really think we needed this week’s little “reminder”? Sure, Andrea fizzled out and never really became anything, but she got a name and we all perked up. Yes, I will get plenty of water and hurricane supplies, but not a day before June 1st, thank you. And thank God for Amazon, they make hurricane season shopping…a breeze (pun intended).
