The internet, like the real world, is full of a whole plethora of dark and scary things. It doesn't take long to find something disturbing, especially when it's something weird from our real world. Well, this week nature delivered. As reported by AV Club and a bunch of other outlets, the age of the zombie snail is upon us.
Twitter user Mike Inouye shared a video of the creature where he explained how its dark powers work:
"This zombie snail. A parasitic worm Leucochloridium has taken over its motor functions and eye stalks, making them into caterpillar mimics so birds will eat them. The worm can then reproduce in the bird's GI tract, eventually transmitting via its feces."
