VIDEO: Miami QB D'Eriq King Injures Knee In Cheez-It Bowl

Well, the joy of Miami Hurricanes quarterback D'Eriq King announcing his return to Miami didn't last long before taking a very 2020-esque turn.

King suffered an injury to his right leg late in the second quarter of the Cheez-It Bowl matchup vs. Oklahoma State in Orlando last night. King stayed down for several minutes before being helped to the injury tent by two trainers and then heading back to the locker room, clearly favoring his right knee. He returned to the sideline late in the third quarter on crutches and with a knee brace on his right knee.

Back-up quarterback N'Kosi Perry finished the game, completing 19-of-34 passes for 228 yards with two touchdowns and ten rushing yards. Despite that, Miami fell short, losing the Cheez-It Bowl, 37-34.

The status of King's knee won't be known until he is further evaluated when the team returns to UM on Wednesday, according to coach Manny Diaz.
