From around the nations the masses have converged to win the title of Florida Man!
Competitors in tank tops and cutoff shorts, gathered for “the most insane athletic showdown on Earth,” The Florida Man Games! The games kicked off Saturday, with teams battling in contests inspired by real events from the Sunshine State.
James Gordon of DeLand won the first event, A barbecue pork and sausage eating contest, followed by mud wrestling in an inflatable pool, with weapons made from pool noodles and duct tape. There's also the theft-simulation relay, where competitors raced while toting a pair of bicycles, copper pipes and catalytic converters, and sumo wrestling while holding pitchers of beer, or running from real sheriff’s deputies, as you jump fences and avoiding obstacles.
The event cost $45 to watch at Francis Field in downtown St. Augustine.
