The MC5, the band that fired the first Punk Rock shot heard round the world is back with a new single for a new album on the way!
The new album “Heavy Lifting,” will be out in October, but the new single "Boys Who Play With Matches," is out now. The band shared a taste of the new album with the title track that featured Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine, and now the band has begun the rollout to the new material, produced by Bob Ezrin.
Heavy Lifting features guitar and vocals from the late Wayne Kramer, as the 13 song release features, GN’R’s Slash, William DuVall, Living Colour’s Vernon Reid, and the late MC5 drummer Dennis “Machine Gun” Thompson.
Heavy Lifting will be the first release by the punk godfather's since 1971’s High Time, just in time for their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!
