It's Jason Bonham's Birthday!

It's Jason Bonham's Birthday!

Bonham was first seen by the music world in the classic Led Zeppelin concert film "The Song Remains The Same," where as a child he plays on a kid set with his father the great John Bonham. After the death of his father, Bonham forged a path of his own into the world of music, joining the band Virginia Wolf, making two albums and touring with Jimmy Page with his band The Firm.

Page would record a solo record in 1988, and Bonham joined his band for his "Outrider" album, which along with Robert Plant's success at the same time would lead to the surviving members of Led Zeppelin to perform at Atlantic Records 40th Anniversary. The next year, Bonham would appear as a special guest at Jon Bon Jovi's Moscow Music Peace Festival, to perform Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll" with a collection of the festival's other bands. He would form his own band, Bonham, and release "The Disregard of Timekeeping," behind the singles "Wait for You" and "Guilty".

Jason would continue on with session work, and till 94 where he would reformed his old band with a new name "Motherland," and appear with his sister Zoe to represent their father when Led Zeppelin was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. he would go on to appear in the movie Rock Star, as part of the fictional band Steel Dragon and join Ted Nugent, Evan Seinfeld of Biohazard, Sebastian Bach of Skid Row, and Scott Ian of Anthrax on the VH1 reality show, Supergroup, to form the band Damnocracy. Bonham would later join the supergroup Black Country Communion with Joe Bonamassa, Glenn Hughes and Derek Sherinian, and hook up with Led Zeppelin again for a set of reunion concerts. Bonham's career may not have been as impactful as his late father's, but it's been long, storied, and a Hell of a lotta fun, as he is considered one of the best drummers of his time.

Happy Birthday Jason Bonham!
