In Holland, Summa College in Eindhoven, is offering a unique program, "The Metal Factory"!
The program provides specialized courses in heavy metal music, where students can study metal vocals, as well as guitar, bass, drums, and keyboard, all with a focus on techniques specific to the genre.
The Metal Factory's official website states that its curriculum is designed to help students become independent artists and entrepreneurs within the music industry. Graduates can pursue careers in music composition, production, teaching, and coaching. Many alumni have gone on to study at prestigious institutions like the Conservatory of Amsterdam, while others have pursued careers in fields such as copyright, management, music therapy, and speech therapy.
The faculty includes 14 experienced instructors, including former Cynic bassist Robin Zielhorst, Textures members Bart Hennephof (guitar) and Stef Broks (drums), ex-Delain guitarist Merel Bechtold, and sound engineer Jacques De Haard. All instructors are active in the music industry, with many having toured internationally and bringing real-world experience to the classroom.
