Two Gay Men Attacked After Gay Pride Parade

After the Gay Pride Parade on Sunday, four men attacked two gay men that were holding hands.

The incident was caught on tape, where four young men - one of which was wearing a Florida International University t-shirt - are seen walking up to a bathroom area on Ocean Drive and Sixth Street. The two men walk out of the bathroom and are immediately attacked by the four. The two victims began to run away and the attackers chased them.

Helmut Muller, who was standing near the bathrooms at the time of the fight, jumped in to break up the fight. Muller, 29, said, "It all happened so quick. They almost killed this guy, literally."

When Muller tried breaking up the fight, one of the attackers knocked him out and he hit his head on the concrete, which left him with a large gash on the back of his head, requiring him to get four stitches.

One of the victims told NBC 6 News that him and his partner were just holding hands when they were attacked.

Police are asking men to help identify the men involved in the attack. Three are described as Hispanic white males, between the ages of 19 and 24, each about 5 foot 8.

Anyone with information can call Miami-Dade Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
