Queen Is Making A Killing In Music Sales Thanks To 'Bohemian Rhapsody'

iHeartRadio Music Festival - Day 1 - Show

There was never any question that Queen stood to benefit from the release of Bohemian Rhapsody, whether the film was a flop or a phenomenon, Queen would surely make out.

Even still, BoRhap's box office and awards season success went far beyond anyone's expectations for a music biopic.

While Brian May revealed last month that he and his band mates have yet to earn any money from the movie, BIllboard reports that the band is in line for some big checks, thanks to the revitalized popularity of its music.

Streams of Queen's catalog more than tripled since Bohemian Rhapsody hit theaters in November. But music sales were even more impressive, with digital and physical sales increasing more than 480 percent.

Billboard estimates the sales resulted in $18 million in revenue for Queen in just six months since the film's release.

Furthermore, Queen + Adam Lambert is set to hit the road again in North America this July on their 'Rhapsody' tour, so it's hard to believe the positive momentum will stop anytime soon.
