In 1981 Joan Jett Hit #1 with "I Love Rock 'n Roll!"
Joan Jett saw the song performed on TV by Arrows in 1976 and immediately loved it. When she recruited with the Blackhearts on her second album she covered the song and made it the title of the album. It became Jett's most commercially successful album to date, selling over a million copies
The album was populated with many covers including, "Nag" by the Halos,"Bits and Pieces" by the Dave Clark Five, and "Crimson and Clover" by Tommy James & the Shondells, which gained a little bit of controversy for Jett,
"People worried that I didn't change the words in 'Crimson and Clover' to 'him' from 'her'. It was only because that wouldn't have rhymed." Jett said.
The song and the album is one of the most popular in rock for decades and is still synonymous with Jett to this day!
