A man was arrested on felony robbery charges after trying to withdraw 1 cent from a bank.
Yep, a penny.
In Sumter County, an incident took place at Chase Bank, where Michael Fleming, walked into the bank and filled out a withdrawal slip for 1 cent. He then, handed it to a bank teller, who told Fleming he couldn't withdraw a penny.
"So you want me to say the other word?" Fleming told the bank teller.
No other details about their conversation has been revealed, but deputies said the bank teller was in fear, so she called law enforcement. When deputies arrived, Fleming was taken into custody, and was transported to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office. Deputies have confirmed that they had probable cause to believe Fleming did violate robbery laws, and the 41-year-old was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center, where he remains on $5,000 bond.
