The Red Hot Chili Peppers have released another classic video!
"Behind The Sun" is now available on their YouTube channel, making it another one of their classic videos to and on the channel in recent months. The song is off their third album, "The Uplift Mofo Party Plan," which was released in 1987, but didn't get a promotional push until 92, when it was a part of the What Hits!? album. The song hit at No. 7 on Billboard’s Modern Rock chart, with a push from MTV airplay of the video.
Directed by Charlie Paul, the video uses footage from the “Higher Ground” video along with animation from the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society, however unlike Higher ground John Frusciante & Chad Smith did not play on the song, as it was recorded Hillel Slovak and Jack Irons. The single was released after Slovak’s death, and is the biggest hit from his time in the band. Hilel's brother James Slovak named Hillel’s biography Behind The Sun, as it's become a fan favorite, that the band has never performed live.
