Reward for Helping Solve Florida Murders Nearly Doubles

With a spike in homicides in Florida, law enforcement is increasing the award money for anonymous tips that lead to arrests in murder cases.

"We can't do this alone," Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody said. "We're nearly doubling the award for those who come forward with information about homicides in Florida."

The award is increasing from $5,000 to $9,500.

"These tips are critical for our investigators to solve these types of crimes," Orlando Police Chief Orlando Rolon said.

Metro Orlando in 2020 had the most homicides since 2016.

A statewide tip line was announced last year by Moody. By dialing **8477- your tip is passed on to the nearest Crime Stoppers office.
