Vaccines Offered To Adults And Some Kids At SoFla Concerts & Schools

Now that fully vaccinated people can shed their masks in most cases, there's a new push to get shots in arms.

Fort Lauderdale is kicking off its community campaign Take Your Shot tonight at 6:00 at its free, family-friendly Riverwalk Music Series concert at Huizenga Plaza.

Spokesperson Mike Jachles says people as young as 12 can receive a dose of the Pfizer vaccine. For those underage, a parent must accompany them and have a legal document like a birth certificate. Adults will get a coupon for beer if they get the shot.

Other city events that will host pop-ups include the FTL Artwalk on May 29th and Carter Park Jamz in June.

All state-run vaccination sites including Hard Rock Stadium and Loan Depot Park plus CVS are now open to people over 12.

Miami-Dade Schools is opening to the public its vaccine program set up at a handful of campus tomorrow and next Saturday.
