NORTH PORT -- The search for the fiance of missing woman Gabby Petito goes into a second day Sunday, as others continue searching for her in Wyoming.
North Port police spokesman Josh Taylor says about half a dozen agencies, including the FBI, and about 50 searchers are combing a 25,000 acre nature preserve, the Carlton Reserve, for 23-year-old Brian Laundrie. He describes the site as "very wet." Family members reportedly told police that Laundrie went out to the reserve Tuesday to hike, and they haven't seen him since.
Relatives of Petito issued a statement through a family lawyer saying "Laundrie is not missing, he is hiding. Gabby is missing."
