WASHINGTON -- The Florida man who admitted taking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's lectern faces sentencing Friday in Washington.
36 year old Adam Johnson of Parrish in Manatee County, pled guilty in November to one charge of entering or remaining in a restricted facility. Two other charges were dropped.
Federal prosecutors want the stay at home dad to serve a 90-day jail sentence, pointing to his sharing photos and videos of the riot on Facebook, claiming he showed a sense of "entitlement and privilege".
Johnson's lawyers point to his regret and asserted he wouldn't have gotten so much attention had he grabbed a lectern that wasn't Pelosi's.
