Miami, FL - A semi-truck containing 54,000 cells phones valued at $11.5 million dollars was stolen while en route to South Florida on Sunday.

Sal Banbahji, the Director of International Distribution for PCS Wireless, tells Local 10 News "the truck stopped at a rest stop and we get notification that the complete truck is gone."

Banbahji says the multi-million dollar heist happened while the truck was heading from Tampa to Miami Lakes on August 14th.

Investigators say the cab of the truck was located in Hallandale Beach, but the trailer containing the phones was gone.

Banbahji tells Local 10 News the loss is "extremely devastating, this is a large amount of money."

In total, more than 54,000 cell phones valued at $11.5 million dollars were stolen. However, all of the phones are blocked and unable to be activated.

Banbahji says "there is going to be a one hundred thousand dollar reward to help us find devices and who did this. We are doing everything in our power to find out where the cell phones are. It’s mind blowing that a truck can disappear and it’s a lot of money for any business to deal with.”
