Key Largo, FL - A 42-year-old Arkansas man was arrested after he was caught trying to steal a South Florida food truck while having meth in his possession.
42-year-old Steven Wayne McClelland of Mountain View, Arkansas was arrested by Monroe County Sheriff's deputies around 6 a.m. in the parking lot of the 10100 block of Overseas Highway on Key Largo.
Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Adam Linhardt says deputies responded to the parking lot after receiving reports that "witnesses saw a man acting erratically while driving around a food truck. They stated it looked like he was trying to steal the food truck.”
Responding officers found McClelland backing his vehicle up to the food truck.
When questioned, McClelland admitted he was backing up his vehicle to the food truck in order to steal it.
Deputies searched McClelland and found a small amount of methamphetamine in a glass pipe in his possession.
McClelland was arrested and taken to jail.
