Day Thirteen: The Championships - Wimbledon 2019

The Heat wrapped up a decent Summer League run in Las Vegas. More importantly, it seems they have found a possible future star in 1st round draft pick Tyler Herro. Basketball will cool off on the court until the FIBA World Championships which kick off Labor Day Weekend in China.

The Marlins dropped 2-of-3 to the Mets who had been choking like dogs (3-10) prior to their arrival. Garrett Cooper, Curtis Granderson and Brian Anderson all went yard in Game 1 and Caleb Smith went 6 sometime shaky innings for the win. The bats went away for games 2 and 3 as the Marlins only plated 2 in each. The bullpen also didn’t shine in the latter two as they let each game get away late. The Fish are off today before they welcome the Padres to town tomorrow for a 3-game series. If you want to be different and go against the norm, buy a ticket here and head down to the ballpark!

Wimbledon had an epic men's final yesterday as Novak Djokovic beat Roger Federer in a 5-set tiebreak that lasted almost 5 hours, making it the longest Wimbledon Final ever. It was also the first ever final decided with a 5th set tiebreak which was a new rule this year. On the ladies' side Simona Halep beat Serena Williams in straight sets in the Woman's Final, making it look surprisingly easy in the process.

Lastly, a new poll found that 12% of men believe they could beat Serena Williams…in tennis.Another 14% "weren't sure" if they could score a point against her. I honestly don't know if any of my friends are part of that 26%, but if they or you are, let me tell you this…There is a better chance of my boss walking in to the office later today and awarding me this company's'International Employee of the Year' along with 100,000 iHeartMedia stock options than you even whiffing a point against her let alone beating her. The only 3 men who can reasonably make that claim and not come across as misogynistic are named Roger, Rafael and Novak.

Enjoy your week!
