I was sitting down in my man cave to catch a little NFL football (yes, it’s back and not a moment too soon). I grabbed a cocktail, cranked down the AC’s and started to watch, and then I realized something. Something that seems so normal for us and so matter of fact. And now there's an even bigger problem that Dorian's caused: I learned today that Bahamians don’t carry insurance, it’s simply too expensive.
So what you’re seeing on the news, the total destruction, people wading aimlessly through standing water, children crying and hungry...all of that isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. But you can help. I just ordered a bunch of water and canned goods from Publix and will be bringing it to the Shops at Pembroke Gardens. We will be there all day today, September 6th. But there will be a continued effort to support those in need, even beyond today. If you wanna help, you can! Got an old tent, some tarps, hammers, nails, plywood? Load it up and give. They will need our help, for years.
Huge shout out to Mobile Mike.
