Paul Castronovo Musings: Something Has To Give

Protests happening around the country. We haven’t wiped in a month. We no longer work out. Something has to give. And this weekend, it did.

My Son and I went fishing and while heading toward the inlet (I don’t know why they have decided that if your boat is in the water behind your house that it’s ok to use it, while people who trailer their boats cannot, but that’s a discussion for another time; until they tell me not to, I will fish), what I saw looked like the 4th of July. Maybe 5000 people partying their asses off in the intracoastal waterway in Lake Boca. Now, the cops were in full force on boats, making sure nobody was rafted up together, but that didn’t stop boat loads of people, I counted way more than 10 people on many of the boats.

Now, I am not judging, ok, yes I am, but I thought we weren’t supposed to party in big groups? Are you not worried about bringing that crap back to your house? Every time I am out in public, whether it’s grocery shopping or picking up take out or getting gas, I am leery of everyone I come in contact with! I think, “Well, that dude has Coronavirus”. Am I being overly protective or am I being an idiot?

I’ve heard stories of people in the Keys hanging together because, “There's only 20 cases in all of the Keys, how am I gonna get it?” I don’t know, but I hope you don’t!

Here’s some footage of Lake Boca…it looks like a giant floating petri dish, but it also looks like fun!

Be safe.
