Disney Reveals Lots Of Upcoming Marvel Projects

Disney revealed lots and lots of news for the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

During a presentation for Disney investors, we got news and first looks at a bunch of upcoming projects.

Here's some scoop and some footage...

THE FALCON & THE WINTER SOLDIER

The six-episode Original Series also stars Daniel Brühl, reprising his role as Baron Zemo, Emily VanCamp, reprising her role as Sharon Carter, and newcomer Wyatt Russell as John Walker. Directed by Kari Skogland with Malcolm Spellman serving as head writer, Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and The Winter Soldier debuts on Disney+ on March 19, 2021!

LOKI

Joining Tom Hiddleston in the series are Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. Loki is directed by Kate Herron with Michael Waldron serving as head writer.

MS. MARVEL

Ms. Marvel, a newer character to Marvel comics has grabbed the world's imagination. Starring Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan. Ms. Marvel, an Original Series from Marvel Studios, is coming late 2021 to Disney Plus.

WHAT IF

Directed by Bryan Andrews, with Ashley Bradley serving as head writer, Marvel Studios’ What If…? will premiere on Disney+ in Summer 2021.

WANDAVISION

"We are an unusual couple." Marvel Studios' WandaVision, an Original Series, starts streaming Jan. 15 on Disney Plus.

DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS

Currently in production, the Sam Raimi-directed sequel stars returning cast Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Rachel McAdams (Christine Palmer), and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Mordo), as well as the addition of Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff) and newcomer Xochitl Gomez who will portray America Chavez, a new fan-favorite from the comics. The Marvel Studios adventure, set to debut in theaters March 25, 2022, will connect the events of next month’s WandaVision, the original new series debuting on Disney+, and the upcoming Spider-Man film.

CAPTAIN MARVEL 2

Returning to her role as Carol Danvers in Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel 2, Brie Larson will be joined by Iman Vellani, who makes her debut as Ms. Marvel in the Disney+ series of the same name. Additionally, joining the cast is Teyonah Parris, who portrays grown-up Monica Rambeau — a character introduced as a child in Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel — in Marvel Studios’ WandaVision. The film, directed by Nia DaCosta, is slated to open November 11, 2022.

SECRET INVASION

Samuel L. Jackson is back as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn from Captain Marvel returns as the Skrull Talos in Marvel Studios' Original Series Secret Invasion. Coming to Disney Plus.

IRONHEART

Coming soon to Disney Plus, Dominique Thorne is genius inventor Riri Williams in Ironheart, an Original Series about the creator of the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man

HAWKEYE

Original Avenger Jeremy Renner returns to star as Hawkeye, teaming up with well-known archer from Marvel comics, Kate Bishop played by the amazing Hailee Steinfeld. Additional cast include Vera Farmiga, Fra Free and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez with episodes directed by Rhys Thomas and directing duo Bert and Bertie. Coming late 2021

ARMOR WARS

Don Cheadle returns as James Rhodes aka War Machine in Armor Wars, an Original Series coming to Disney Plus. A classic Marvel story about Tony Stark’s worst fear coming true: what happens when his tech falls into the wrong hands?

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY HOLIDAY SPECIAL

James Gunn is back to write and direct. The Original Special is coming to Disney Plus in 2022, will film alongside Guardians Of The Galaxy 3.

I AM GROOT

Everyone’s favorite little tree, Baby Groot, will star in a series of shorts on Disney+ featuring several new and unusual characters. I Am Groot, an Original Series from Marvel Studios.

THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER

Academy Award-winning actor Christian Bale will join the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder as the villain Gorr the God Butcher. In theaters May 6, 2022

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA

Peyton Reed is back to direct the third Ant-Man film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, and Michelle Pfeiffer all return. Kathryn Newton joins the cast as Cassie Lang and Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror

FANTASTIC FOUR

Jon Watts will direct the new feature film for Marvel's First Family, Fantastic Four!

BLACK PANTHER II

Marvel Studios’ Black Panther 2 will continue to honor the legacy of Chadwick Boseman and his portrayal of King T’Challa, and will not recast the character. The sequel will continue to explore the incomparable world of Wakanda and all of the rich and varied characters introduced in the first film. Written and directed by Ryan Coogler, who was behind Black Panther, the film will be released on July 8, 2022.

SHE-HULK

She-Hulk arrives to the MCU! Tatiana Maslany will portray Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk and Tim Roth returns as the Abomination and Hulk himself, Mark Ruffalo, will appear in the series. Directed by Kat Coiro and Anu Valia, with Jessica Gao serving as head writer. Kevin Feige teases possible appearances of other heroes in the series, saying "And since Jennifer Walters is a lawyer who specializes specifically in superhero oriented legal cases, you never know what Marvel characters are gonna pop up, from episode to episode."

MOON KNIGHT

The Marvel Studios original series for Disney+ centers on the character Marc Spector aka Moon Knight, a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. These multiple identities who live inside him are distinct characters in the series and will appear against a backdrop of Egyptian iconography. Directed by Mohamed Diab.

SHANG CHI & THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS

Opening Summer 2021, Simu Liu stars as Shang-Chi in Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings. Shang-Chi must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization. The film’s cast also includes Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy, and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan. Additionally, Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu and Ronny Chieng appear in the upcoming movie, which is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings opens July 9, 2021.

ETERNALS

Released November 5, 2021

SPIDER-MAN 3

Will be connected to Doctor Strange multiverse.

BLADE

Starring Mahershala Ali as Blade. Expect more news soon.

BLACK WIDOW
