On Saturday, pop rock band Smash Mouth played a show at a beer and wine festival in Bethel, New York and it was PURE CHAOS.

The sound was horrible for basically the whole show, and lead singer Steve Harwell made matters worse by getting WASTED. He was slurring, dropping drinks, often not even singing, and at one point he appeared to give a Nazi salute.

He told one fan, quote, "I'll [bleeping] kill your whole family, I swear to God." He also told the crowd that if he could pleasure himself orally, he'd never leave the house.

A woman who was there posted video on TikTok, and it's pretty sad.

Harwell had announced earlier that he intended to take some time off from performing, but after that mess he has retired altogether.

Steve blamed it on his ongoing medical issues. He said, quote, "I've tried so hard to power through my physical and mental health issues, and to play in front of you one last time, but I just wasn't able to . . .

"I cannot wait to see what Smash Mouth accomplishes next and am looking forward to counting myself as one of the band’s newest fans."

He also mentioned how fortunate he is that he got to live out his childhood dream of being a rock star.
