We are getting more details about the dog that rode with the U.S. Army Special Forces in Syria to take down the ISIS leader Sunday night.
The hero dog — of the Belgian Malinois breed — is a female named Conan, and she chased Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi into a tunnel, resulting in the terrorist leader blowing himself up. A senior Pentagon source clarified that she was named after the comedian Conan O’Brien — not the famed fictional character, Conan the Barbarian.
On Monday, President Trump praised the canine on Twitter:
We have declassified a picture of the wonderful dog (name not declassified) that did such a GREAT JOB in capturing and killing the Leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi!
