The Castronovies: Worst South Florida Coach

Nominee: Don Mattingly (Marlins)

In his four seasons as manager of the Miami Marlins, Don Mattingly has never made it to the post-season. There's plenty of room for improvement - the first season under Derek Jeter's ownership was not only worst season during Mattingly's tenure, but was also the fifth worst season in Marlins history. We'd say it's time for another classic fire sale, but who's even left at this point?

Nominee: Manny Diaz (UM)

In his first year as head coach Manny Diaz blazed a trail of mediocrity, leading the Hurricanes to a 6-6 finish. While it was a disappointment to all Canes fans, it was extra difficult for The Orange Bowl Boys who had nothing to talk about. Look, if you had just beat Florida back in August we wouldn't have to put you on this list Manny. Get it together.

Nominee: Coach Flo (Dolphins)

So long Gase and Tannehill, Brian Flores is here with some of that New England Patriots magic. The plan was to #TankForTua (or #BlowForBurrow), but Coach Flo was not on board. At the beginning of the season the Dolphins were almost guaranteed the number one pick in the draft but after a scrappy 4-11 season, they're now projected to pick 5th. At the end of the season, Coach Flo didn't suck enough to get the top pick and didn't win enough to make the playoffs. Do you realize the Dolphins haven't won a playoff game this century? Ouch.

Nominee: Willie Taggart (FAU)

Sure, he hasn't actually coached a single game wearing a Florida Atlantic University polo yet, but we're not gonna let that stop us from nominating him. If there's one thing Paul and Toast can agree on, it's a hatred of Willie Taggart. We miss Coach Kiffin already.

No matter who wins this poll, South Florida sports fans are gonna lose. Give us your vote below:
