Paul Castronovo's The Ten: NCAA Football Rankings

Back by popular demand: THE TEN!

The final Associated Press rankings are out and here’s my reaction as a college football fan and a Gator fan...sorry not sorry Canes and Noles!

So, after LSU dismantled Clemson for the National Championship of college football, we end up with this:

  1. LSU
  2. CLEMSON
  3. OHIO STATE
  4. GEORGIA
  5. OREGON
  6. FLORIDA
  7. OKLAHOMA
  8. ALABAMA
  9. PENN STATE
  10. MINNESOTA

So let’s analyze:

Nobody can argue that LSU and Joe Burrow were lethal and beat Clemson outright, a team that hadn’t lost in two years. I do like that kid, Trevor Lawrence's hair though. Maybe if we don’t get Tua, we will get him? 🤞🏼 Ohio State at number 3? I don’t hate them that much anymore, and they did get into the playoffs, so I will allow this. Georgia at number 4? Whatever. How is it possible you lose to Muschamp and SC and are sitting at number 4? Oh yeah, you beat Bama. Oregon at number 5? Gotta love their head coach, Mario Cristobal, Cane fans can’t believe he’s not theirs! He will never leave the west coast.

Gators at number 6? I will take it. Next years goal: 12 wins and the playoffs.

Oklahoma? Whatever. Play defense sometime. Alabama? Sorry Saban, take your sour puss someplace else. It’s refreshing that you weren’t in it for a change, but I am sure you’ll be back next year. Penn State? I think they are going to be a force next season. And finally...Minnesota. One of the best stories of the year. Their fans are cool, and we don’t play them.
