Conan wrapped up his late night show on TBS last week to move over to HBO Max, and it reminded me of the time Conan and I hugged it out at one of his shows.
It was right after he was fired as host of the Tonight Show. He launched a massive tour (since his contract wouldn't allow him on TV at the time) and the first show was in Eugene, OR, where I was living. After the show (which was hilarious), Conan ran up and down the isle high fiving people. For some reason he stopped right in front of me and opened his arms like he hadn't seen me in months. He gave me a massive hug in front of the entire theater and I caught the entire thing on tape. It was an old flip phone camera so the quality isn't very good but I'll remember it forever. I've been a massive Conan fan since I was 13 years old so that was a pretty exciting moment. He smelled fantastic.
