Police arrested a car thief in Austin, Texas and surprised when they got his name, Optimus Prime!
Optimus Prime Blakely is a 37 year old man who was arrested when police stopped him and discovered the car stolen. Upon identifying the man, they surprisingly found that his name was in fact Optimus Prime. Optimus Prime is of course the name of the main character from the 80's cartoon, Transformers, which has since become a blockbuster live action franchise, that's spun off several spinoff series, games, toys, and masses of mods in car culture that can be seen on roads everywhere today. Optimus Prime himself is an Autobot that transforms into a big rig with a trailer that transforms into a mini base of operations.
It has not been confirmed if Blakely was given the name at birth, or he's just a monster Transformers fan and got it changed. For now, Blakely faces a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and remains in the Travis County jail with bond set at $8,000. there's been no word if any of the other Autobots have attempted to post bail so Blakely can TRANSFORM and ROLL OUT!
