Project Elevate is the name Hyundai have given their new idea. They will endeavor to create a vehicle which will get around on four wheels, but when the going gets rough, it starts walking and crawling through difficult terrain.
The idea behind it is to create a vehicle which can withstand travel in a difficult environment and other vehicles may not be able to travel. Natural disasters, as well as everyday situations like helping the disabled where there is no special access for them, is where this robot is meant to come into its own.
Have engineers taken it too far or will this invention propel us into the future? I guess we'll have to wait and see, and hope the machines don't take over the world. (Jalopnik)
