Trying to keep on a budget in the new year but also trying to human? Well, I'm sorry. The human part of it is getting harder because Netflix is raising their subscription rates.
The company's plans will increase in price by $1-$2. The standard $11 plan, for example, will increase to $13 per month due to the fact that they are investing heavily in new programmes this year.
This makes the subscription services almost more expensive than HBO! Netflix has been spending billions on new content — at least $8 billion last year! For example, when FRIENDS was on its way out they bought it back for one more year at $100 Million.
I can't say I'm impressed with the price rise but if it means we will be provided with better content through the service then I guess it's a good trade-off.
