The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air Is Back, But Different.

WILL SMITH is developing a reboot of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" . . . but this time he's not doing it for laughs. It's quite the opposite really. This version will be as if the show was a serious drama dealing with real life issues. It's based on a phony trailer that a guy named Morgan Cooper made last year called"Bel-Air", that reimagined the show as a gritty drama. Phony it may be, it looks awesome and it totally inspired Will to develop it for real. "The short film by cinematographer Cooper took the Internet by storm when it was released in March 2019. Described by Cooper as “a reinterpretation” that brings the story “into modern-day life in 2019,” it has amassed more than 7.5 million views to date in two official YouTube posts alone." (deadline.com)

Cooper also landed a job out of it, he will direct and co-executive produce the series that i'm sure will get picked up, which he is co-writing with Chris Collins. Collins is an executive producer and showrunner. He has been helping Will develop the show for about a year, and there's been interest from several streaming services, including HBO Max, Peacock, and Netflix.

I would absolutely watch this as a series or a film, it looks like it will be amazing!

Check out the trailer that started it all below, it actually gave me goosebumps.
