Just when we though the Mars Rover was super cool, we have been even more impressed!
NASA is preparing to make history by flying a helicopter on Mars. This helicopter was actually tucked inside the rover and now it's ready to come out and play!
The copter, named Ingenuity, was tucked away on the belly of the Perseverance rover that landed on the red planet back in February. The challenge was creating a helicopter that could actually fly in the much thinner atmosphere on Mars. Doesn't this BLOW your mind?!
NASA is holding a briefing today to outline where it plans to deploy Ingenuity and where it could possibly explore. The first flight is expected no earlier than the first week of April.
