Dexter Is BACK!

I have to admit, that during covid, I did a lot of binge-watching (as I'm sure many of you did) and I discovered the crime drama series, based in Miami ... Dexter.

Oh boy did I binge this show.

So you could imagine my excitement to hear that Michael C. Hall is once again Dexter in a revival of the show “Dexter: New Blood!” The ex blood spatter expert by day, serial killer by night is now living in the fictional upstate New York small town of Iron Lake. He’s going by the name Jimmy Lindsay. He no longer spends his day looking at blood spatter and instead plays with knives. To be exact, he is staying busy with work at a hunting store. Which seems an interesting choice for someone trying to become a reformed serial killer.

John Lithgow, who played Arthur Mitchell (a.k.a. The Trinity Killer) in the original series, announced last month that he's returning for a "short but decisive appearance" in the revival along with Jennifer Carpenter who played Dexter's sister, Deb Morgan. Both characters of course died in the series so presumably, this will be for flashbacks.

The revival will be 10 episodes. Showrunner Clyde Phillips—who ran the first four seasons of the original series—wrote the script for the first and the last episode. It's scheduled to premiere Sunday, November 7 at 9 p.m. on Showtime.
