New York Is Putting Robots In Homes Of The Elderly

The state of New York is helping it's elderly population by putting robots in their homes.

The city will distribute robot companions to the homes of more than 800 elderly adults.

The company, Intuition Robotics, that created the robot named ElliQ says it can shape its own personality to complement its owner and it can even be empathetic.

Intuition Robotics’ claim is that ElliQ can project empathy and form bonds with users. The robot is supposed to remember key details about a user’s life and shape its character to match theirs. It will crack more jokes if the user tends to laugh a lot, for example.

Some people are saying this is just showing how much society doesn't care about the aging population and this isn't helpful at all, others are praising the creators for this new robot invention.
