Today Nikki Sixx celebrates a day he may not want to remember, but it's his own fault that it's eternally remembered.
In 1987 Sixx was pronounced 'dead on arrival,' when his heart stopped beating for two minutes in an ambulance. Sixx was given two shots of adrenaline in his chest, which would revive him, unbeknownst to the rest of the members of Motley Crue who were prematurely informed of his death.
The horrible moment would be memorialized in the hit song "Kick Start My Heart" which chronicles Sixx's addiction and life altering moment. The song would be one of the Crue's most recognized hits as it became a stadium anthem that still gets massive play today.
