Woman Finds A $100,000 Vase At Goodwill?!

A woman paid $3.99 for a glass vase at Goodwill and auctioned it for over $107,000!

Designed by Carlo Scarpa for the famed Italian company Venini in 1942, the vase was found by Jessica Vincent of Richmond, Va., when she and her partner were visiting Goodwill store.

"People tell me I have a good eye," Vincent said. "You can put me in an aisle with a whole bunch of dollar store stuff and I can pick out the one item with a little bit of value."

Vincent bought the vase for $3.99, took photos of the vase and shared it online, where the members of her glassware Facebook group identified the piece. It was verified by Wright auction house in Chicago and valued at $30,000-$50,000 dollars. The vase was bought for $107,100 from a European collector, and Vincent took home about $83,500 from the sale, after the auction house received about $23,600.

"I knew I wanted to get it back in the art world. They didn't know it existed," Vincent said. "I feel like I saved it from obscurity."
