Today The World Was Blinded By The Light Of The Boss!

In 1973 Bruce Springsteen released his debut album 'Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.'!

What took a single week to record the album only sold 25,000 copies in its first year, despite its classic single 'Blinded By The Light'. The song never made a dent in the charts for Springsteen, but the cover by Manfred Mann's Earth Band reached No.1 on the charts in 1977.

Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J. did gain popularity after Bruce's rise to the top, as it charted in the UK in 1985, after the Born in the U.S.A. tour hit England, and remained in the top 100 for ten weeks. The album has historically become a classic of Bruce's library as it was ranked at No. 379 on Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" list, and widely considered one of the Greatest Debut Albums of All Time.
