Rod Stewart Celebrates A Birthday Today.

Happy Birthday Rod Stewart!

To say that Rod Stewart is a rock god is an understatement. Rod has sold more than 120 million records, with 10 number-one albums, 16 top-ten singles, with four reaching number one. Stewart was around the British pop scene in the early 60's but gained national attention when he joined the Jeff Beck Group in 1967, after Beck was fired from The Yardbirds. He would move over to the Faces in 1969, as the band would boost their popularity behind Stewart.

Rod would go solo and his third album, Every Picture Tells a Story, topped the charts behind the hit "Maggie May". He would continue to shine through the 70's with hits like "You Wear It Well", "Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright)", "You're in My Heart (The Final Acclaim)", "Hot Legs", and "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy".

His success would not slow down in the 80's as he converted to 80's pop with ease scoring big with "Young Turks", "Some Guys Have All The Luck", "Forever Young" and "Love Touch" and "My Heart Can't tell You No". His run would continue through the 90's and in to the 2000's With "Rhythm of My Heart", "All for Love", and "Downtown Train".

Billboard ranked him the 17th most successful artist on the "Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists", and was voted No. 33 in Q Magazine's list of the Top 100 Greatest Singers of all time. Rod was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the UK Music Hall of Fame, and a second time in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Faces.

He is a man, a myth, a legend. Happy Birthday Sir Rod Stewart.
