Happy Birthday Mick Taylor

It's Mick Taylor's Birthday!

If there was a best time to be in the Rolling Stones it's during Taylor's tenure. Taylor would hit the scene when he took Peter Green's spot in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, when Green left to create Fleetwood Mac. Taylor would be recommended to replace Brian Jones in the Rolling Stones and Mick would join the band on the classic "Let It Bleed".

Mick Taylor's time in the band is thought of as the prime years of the Stones recording "Sticky Fingers", "Exile On Main St", and "It's Only Rock & Roll". This would be seen as the musical height of the Stones as they would be dubbed as The Greatest Rock & Roll Band in the World. From "Honky Tonk Women" to "Wild Horses" Taylor appeares on some of the biggest hits in the Rolling Stones catalogue.

In 1974, Taylor would get burned out in the Stones and leave the band to be replaced by Ron Wood. Mick would go on to play solo and record on high profile sessions including working with Bob Dylan, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts and The Grateful Dead. A career as prolific as Mick Taylor's is rare and his legacy is well chronicled and respected in Rock Music today.
