Today the Beatles Changed The Face Of Music

Three years after hitting Number 1 The Beatles began to change the face of music.

On the same day that they hit #1 with "I Wanna Hold Your Hand", three years later The Beatles began work on the song that would lead to their most historic album, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"!

In 1964, The Beatles invaded America and quickly climbed the charts to hit with "I Wanna Hold Your Hand". The single marked the beginning of a new wave of Rock music that came over from the UK, transcending the boogie woogie and rockabilly sound of the 50's to ring in the musical shift of four-four time to the rock sound.

Three years later the band began recording the title song to their most ambitious project to date, the creation of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". The song and the album would reshape music as a whole for years to come as The Fab Four continued their musical evolution that would redefine music forever. Bands and artists began to extend out of their set musical formats and started to create music that was not bogged down by having to hit a certain length of time or have a defined structure. Musical creativity began to explode as artists no longer used to studio to just record but also used it to create and innovate.

The Beatles were already the biggest band in the world, but Sgt. Peppers made them one of the most influential forces in music.
