Happy Birthday Duff McKagan!
Duff of course is best known for debuting on the scene with Guns N' Roses. For twelve years, the band had massive success with the iconic album "Appetite For Destruction". Following the massive tours for the "Use Your Illusion" albums Duff Would call it quits from the band and strike out on his own.
McKagan released "Believe in Me" in 1993, and would form the supergroup Neurotic Outsiders. The band would have a short run, but eventually Duff would leave reunite with his old band "10 Minute Warning," and create the hard rock band Loaded. In the new decade he would join his former GnR bandmate Slash to create his next supergroup "Velvet Revolver" with Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland. The band would release a pair of hit records, before Weiland would go back to STP.
Duff McKagan established himself as a respected writer via weekly columns for SeattleWeekly.com, Playboy.com, and ESPN, and attended Seattle University's Albers School of Business and Economics to later establish the wealth management firm Meridian Rock.
He rejoined GnR and toured with Axl Rose and Slash, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, and released a new album last year, with "Lighthouse".
